London Plane Natural Bowl
London plane sourced from the wreckage of the HS2 project outside Euston Station, central London. A split developed in the timber as it was drying (see photos) reminding us that wood, of course, is natural, organic and alive.
The split gives the bowl a lot of character but means it is best saved for dry-foods or fruit. Crimson patches of pipping look like a constellation in one half of the bowl. Gorgeous lacewood rises up by the rim.
A really beautiful piece of wood turned into an artistic and functional piece.
21 x 7.5cm
Finished with organic tung oil. Please refer to the ‘Care’ section located on the homepage if you have any concerns about tung oil and nut allergies.
