English Oak Small Platter

A characterful and unique piece of English oak with soft, golden brown grains and swooping medullary rays. A couple of knots give this platter a real identity and remind us of the organic processes behind the material we know and love.

This small platter would serve you well for communal dishes at a dinner party. It would also perform nicely as a wide and shallow fruit bowl. Preferably dry foods, given the nature of the knots. 

Teeny tiny hairline splits occurred during the seasoning of this timber. These have been sealed with the dust of the bowl itself (see photos). This, together with the inherent strength of English oak, means those splits are not going anywhere.
